Summer suit fabrics
So, how does the modern gentlemen dress to the nines in summer? Whether you are dressing for the workplace, a meeting, or an event in the hot summer season, Pascalis Bespoke Tailoring can help you stay stylish (and cool) this summer.
1. Linen
Linen is a classic material for summer, and one of the most popular fabrics for a summer suit due to its breathable, lightweight weave. Curated from the fibres of the flax plant, linen has a visible weave and great natural texture. However, if you want to wear linen to work, you may want to opt for a linen blend that also contains wool or cotton.
2. Cotton
Cotton suits are one of the most versatile options, as it allows you to have a refined yet casual style, that is still summer-friendly. Cotton is stiffer than wool suiting, however it is also a lot cooler.
Summer suit colours
Although black, navy, and charcoal grey suits should always make up your business wardrobe essentials, light colours like khakis, and light greys will help reflect heat instead of absorbing it. Summer is also the perfect time to introduce vibrant and bold colours into your wardrobe. Some suit colours to chose from include:
1. Light grey
Light grey works well with almost every fabric for summer, it provides a good mix between corporate and cocktail.
2. Baby blue
Be daring with different shades of blue. The vibrant, yet still refined shade of baby blue adds a youthful, fun, flair to your look. Baby blue goes best with a linen suit and is a classic colour for summer.
3. Khaki (or beige)
A go-to colour for the warmer months is beige – perfect for any daytime event. Although you should avoid wearing this colour for an evening event, khaki looks very pulled together with the proper accessories.
Accessorise your summer look
Accessories will complete a suit and will perfectly tie in your look to be as minimal or as creative as you desire. Generally, if you are keeping your suit simple, opt for one or two loud accessories, like bright socks, or a patterned tie for example. If your suit is already bold in colour or pattern opt for more simple accessories to refine your look.
